- The
site here is really beautiful and peaceful; we have had a really lovely time
and the pool made it much more fun. Thank you being so helpful and making our
holiday really special.
- This
is a lovely small campsite in a quiet Charente village - a real slice of rural
France. Very helpful site owners and friendly welcome from the locals. The
pool is lovely for keeping cool in the hot summer. Many thanks for pleasant
stay.
- We
found this site very peaceful and the facilities were excellent. The swimming
pool was a blessing with the hot weather. Thank you for being very helpful and
making our holiday really enjoyable.
- After
spending 3 weeks in this lovely rural location we just don't want to return to
the hustle and bustle of town life. Thank you for a lovely peaceful holiday
and warm welcome. Excellent facilities.
- What
a fantastic site! Excellent and pristine facilities. Colin and Ann are very
friendly and helpful. A superb oasis in the Charente. Can't recommend it
enough. We will return.
- Colin
and Ann made us so welcome and by the end of the holiday we feel we've made
two new friends. The facilities are wonderful and kept so clean. We are going
home rested, relaxed and with some great memories.
- This
2 week holiday had been a real chill-out. Colin and Ann helped by making us
feel very welcome and were very helpful. The pool has been fantastic for us
and for the children, who have had a very enjoyable holiday. As caravanners
the facilities here have been one of the best. Surrey family
- Once
again it was lovely to meet up with Ann and Colin. The pool was excellent and
I enjoyed my daily dips. Lovely quiet countryside with good safe
cycling.
- Our party of 4 stayed for 11 nights in
July 2012. We camped in a tent. Our age range is 51-61.
We chose this site
for its remoteness while still wanting to be within easy reach of all the
tourist sights if we wanted to go out on a trip. A perfect place to stay as it is away
from all the hubbub of daily life, no traffic, no light pollution (the stars
are amazing at night). The pool
is perfect to cool off in as it does get nice and hot in the
day.Nearest supermarkets are only
10K away in Aulnay along with an ATM and nice bar next door. Some very good
places to eat within easy reach.

All the people we met in the villages
were great, very friendly. With Le Gicq being off the beaten track so to speak
you get a real taste of French life. Plenty of safe places for walking and
cycling surround the campsite. The village itself is a joy to walk around.
The owners can advise you of
places to see, local history and traditions, places to eat etc. All in all, the location, surrounding
areas, the site and the hosts are in my opinion the perfect
deal!

We absolutely loved this site! We were
originally going to stay for 3 days but had to leave after 10 because they
were closing for the end of the season. Although it was coming to the end of
the season in France it was very hot in this part of the country so we made
full use of the swimming pool every evening. The showers & toilets were
immaculate & the washing machine made life much easier. Colin was very
knowledgeable about the local area & offered suggestions about places to
visit as well as introducing us to the delights of the brocante. Angouleme
& Saintes were some of our favourites. Matha is only a few km away
& has a market & Super U. Le Gicq is in a lovely part of France
& so easy to get to from the UK.

What a gem! This was our first camping trip in France and
after an easy drive down we arrived at the campsite. Colin and Ann made us
feel extremely welcome and this continued for the whole sun drenched week.
All the facilities were well
maintained, clean and had everything you need. As most people have said the
pool is wonderful and the kids were in there every day.
We certainly intend to return and having found some lovely villages,
patisseries and great beaches we will take our bikes as there are plenty of
quiet lanes we would like to explore.
